Description
Join Holarctic Bridges for a small-group guided family excursion to Eagle’s Nest in the Calabogie Highlands, one of the most spectacular viewpoints in the Ottawa Valley.
This outdoor experience is designed for families with children, nature enthusiasts, and anyone interested in exploring the region’s natural and cultural heritage. Participants will visit the famous Eagle’s Nest lookout, learn about the geological history of the area, and discover its importance to local Indigenous communities.
Following our visit to the observation point, we will explore nearby forest trails during a guided mushroom walk focused on fungi, forest habitats, and seasonal biodiversity. Participants will learn where mushrooms grow, how to recognize their key characteristics, and how fungi contribute to forest health and ecological processes.
The excursion will be led by an experienced field biologist and will emphasize nature observation, introductory identification techniques, biodiversity, and responsible outdoor practices.

Price: Adults 40 CAD per person, children 8-17 year – 25 CAD per person
What to Bring
Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable walking shoes, bring water, and be prepared for changing weather conditions. Participants may wish to bring a camera or phone. Curiosity, enthusiasm, and a sense of adventure are highly recommended!
